Battery was bought used, but looks like new(not a scratch). Excellent battery life and is still working great since my purchase 2 months ago. Very reasonable price.

I bought my first VGP-BPL6 on March 24, 2007 from Amazon (through PC Universe) for $188.87. Worked great - easily provides five hours regardless of screen/power saving settings.
Now it's already completely dead and won't hold a charge. And now it's somehow worth $300 +???? Why doesn't Sony just come to your house with a gun to rip you off? I'd respect it more. Or be honest up front and say "oh we'll be jacking the price way up on this after the models have been out for about a year." ... Read More

This is a must have if you really want to take advantage of the mobility of the sony upc. With the default battery came with the pc, it will run out of power around an hour, with this large battery, it will at least double the time when I use outside, I don't need to worry about the power anymore. After fully charged, the battery icon shows it can run 4+ hrs (in maximum battery mode), in actually use, I think it's no problem for two hours, at least for now. That's good enough for me.

Made in Japan but...dead. Laptop does not even recognize it's plugged in. I lost my 6 hrs worth of work on my business trip due to this battery which I purchased directly from Sony. Sony told me these are meant to be replaced every year. Somehow my double A's last longer than this. This was also my back up battery, I've only used this twice.
